I just saw a TikTok video claiming emojis are devil sigils. Are you fucking kidding me? Why are people trying so desperately to stomp out evil that does not exist? Are the evils that walk amongst us not enough?

In my opinion, the evils of the world are akin to the ills of the world, subtle and quiet. Now, it makes some sense that some DingDong is trying to find evil amongst the silent glyphs. It doesn't justify it, though. When I think of evil, it is the conspiritard who proclaims themselves well-versed, yet, maybe they just read a couple articles from the same fool or network of fools – now this is foolish ignorance.

My social medii feeds have been absolutely off-the-rocker nuts as of late, thanks Zuck. My most recent incursion with these idiots was a video that legitimized the 1920s and '30s Nazi Book Burning by creating parallels to today's hysteria over transgenderism (the books were "perverse" and dealt with the first gender dysphoria-type surgeries). I laid out the truth – how much of a cuck do you have to be to co-sign book burning of any kind? Fight bad information with good information.

This was met with tales of Democrats' Agenda to Transjenga-ify our children (a ridiculous claim...why? Just why...) Not to mention, by conservative logic, if you fail to keep your kids "safe" from transgenderism...isn't that your own failure as a parent? All of this is besides the point as it is a whataboutism. YOU'RE JUSTIFYING A GROUP OF (EVIL) PEOPLE BURNING BOOKS! There is no moral nor logical justification for that besides you are just an ignorant fool. It is also a failure of truth to proclaim these books to be of solely perverse or societally subversive ideology. Nazis would ultimately burn books written by Jewish, half-Jewish, communist, socialist, anarchist, liberal, pacifist, and sexologist authors among others. At some point it became any book that was not Germanic in origin.

Another lie brewing in the white nationalist underbelly of society seems to be that the "Bolsheviks started it" which is just patently false. There is this idea that millions of Christians were killed by Bolshevik Jews. A quick internet search elucidates that there were millions of Christians murdered – by the Stalinist regime of the USSR which is a total boondoggle in the timeline. Also, the Atheistic regime sprouted from the Bolshevik Revolution, not really the same thing at all. Stalin unalived the Bolshevik compatriots and took the movement in his own image and direction. So, no, the Jews did not commit a genocide...wow who would've thought that a minority in diaspora wouldn't have the gall to do that? But apparently they just did this, but the Nazis didn't take their revenge with the Holocaust, it never happened, apparently...

The Art of Fuck-Giving: A Manson-ian Approach

To reference the wisdom of Mark Manson, we all have a limited number of fucks to give in this life. The question isn't whether we give a fuck – it's about consciously choosing what we give our fucks about.

And let me tell you, giving your precious fucks to emoji conspiracies and manufactured culture wars is like spending your last $20 on scratchers when your electricity is about to be cut off. It's a spectacular misallocation of resources.

These manufactured outrages serve as perfect distractions from the real villains operating in the shadows of corporate boardrooms and legislative chambers. Which brings me to my point about where the real evil lurks.

Real Evil Doesn't Need Devil Horns

But these internet chumps and their deranged theories are just chump change in the jar of evil. The big bucks are where there's big bucks. Big Pharma, Big Insurance, Big Oil/Plastic, Big Banks and Big Tech.

We are the Proletariat, we should be one, undivided by race, sex or religion. We are the victims of a system we likely have all played a role in at one-point-or-another but we are not culpable. Lest you got an exec. bonus whilst 500 or 5,000 low-level employees were wistfully swept aside in the name of the almighty dollar.

Interestingly enough, it wasn't always this way. For all of Henry Ford's faults, he certainly wasn't an albatross of worker rights.[^1] It twas then in Nineteen Dickety Two that the corporation's place in society was sealed in cement, laid to rest. Henry Ford intended on sharing the obscene profits the Ford Motor Company reaped with all of its workers, but Dodge cockblocked this momentous gratitude, it was decided that the corporation was beholden to its shareholders...and well, providing your profits to your workers ain't exactly that.

The Gray Zone Where We Actually Live

The world exists in shades of gray, and our desperate need to categorize everything as purely good or evil reflects our collective inability to sit with discomfort and ambiguity. It's easier to demonize an emoji than to confront the complex reality that most systemic problems don't have a single villain twirling their mustache.

There's a certain absurdity, as Camus might appreciate, in our relentless search for meaning in the meaningless while ignoring the meaningful problems begging for our attention. The 🤘 emoji isn't a satanic symbol – it's just a digital representation of people having a good time at a concert. Meanwhile, actual suffering continues unaddressed because we're too busy debating whether Spongebob is promoting a gay agenda.

I'm not suggesting we give up on identifying actual problems or holding genuinely bad actors accountable. What I am suggesting is that we need to be more discerning about where we direct our outrage, our energy, and yes, our fucks.

A Modest Proposal: Give Better Fucks

Perhaps the simplest solution is the hardest to implement: we need to give better fucks.

Instead of freaking out about the devil lurking in your keyboard, consider redirecting that energy toward understanding how corporate interests have infiltrated our political system. Instead of obsessing over imaginary cabals, consider learning about the very real ways wealth is systematically concentrated.

The most sinister trick the actual villains of society have pulled is convincing us to fight each other over manufactured bullshit while they continue to extract, exploit, and expand their power unchecked.

So the next time you see a video claiming that rainbows are gay propaganda or that emojis are turning your kids into Satan worshippers, maybe pause before you give it one of your precious fucks. Ask yourself: who benefits from me being distracted by this nonsense?

Because I promise you, it's not you.
